Island Estates Women's Club
The Island Estates Women’s Club (IEWC), founded in 1961, brings women together in social settings to foster cooperation, congeniality and companionship. The mission is to stimulate knowledge and interest in a variety of subjects and activities while promoting friendship, service and unity.
The IEWC welcomes all women of Island Estates and the surrounding area. The social Club strives to enrich members’ lives through monthly activities to include luncheons with informative speakers, a bowling league, community-focused fundraisers, field trips, happy hours and even an annual cruise!
Fundraising
Scholarships
The Island Estates Women’s Club (IEWC) holds a steadfast commitment to the community and education. Since 1997, the IEWC has consistently awarded college scholarships to deserving high school girls in the local community. In 2012, the club established a charitable trust specifically for this purpose. Subsequently, in 2013, the Rita O’Neil Memorial Scholarship Fund, in collaboration with the IEWC Scholarship Foundation, was established to commemorate the life and contributions of member Rita O’Neil.
Building on this legacy, in 2016, the IEWC established the Marie Wadsworth Memorial Scholarship Fund, further honoring the memory of club member and President Marie Wadsworth. The IEWC is honored to continue its dedication to supporting education and local students throughout their college journey.
To date, the IEWC has proudly distributed over 128 scholarships, making a significant impact on the lives of deserving individuals.
OUR MISSION
Our club’s mission is to ignite curiosity and interest in a wide range of subjects and activities. We aim to foster a sense of friendship, mutual service, and unity among our members.
Why Join Us!
Membership
The Island Way Women’s Club is made up of a variety of Women in my neighborhood and in adjoining neighborhoods. Women get together for Luncheons, Evening events, and Speakers are chosen to come to our events to inform us on many interesting and informative topics.
I am very happy to be a member of IWWC, because I am learning more about a variety of things going on in my Community, that I would have not known about otherwise.
The variety of Women in the IWWC are all just so wonderfully connected to each other, and it’s a very nice feeling to be with them and experience making our Communities a better and beautiful place to live.

I joined the Island Estates Women’s Club to get to know some neighbors. Turns out they are far more than neighbors, they are supporters, cheerleaders and friends. This group of women are so welcoming and laughing together is always on the menu. They have so many various activities, there is literally something for everyone. You can even try something new or learn a new hobby and be supported all along the way. I have made friends through the club that I will cherish forever.

For me, moving to Florida from out of state, the IEWC was a great way to meet new people,
especially in our community. After having been a member for over 3 years now, I have made so
many friends (some life-long) and have had a chance to give a little something back with our
two annual fundraisers to the unique and wonderful community I’m a part of now. But whether
you’re new or have lived in the area for many years, there is something for everyone at our
monthly luncheons, field trips, or 5’O’clock somewhere gatherings, and you can become as
involved as you wish in this diverse, giving, fun group of ladies.
